Foux de Fa Fa, I believe! Good song. Learned much French from it.

haw-haw! un baguette!!!!
It's a she! :)
Those costumes are really funny (the mustache ahaha!). Even I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of cultural clichés

neither are we... we were wondering what you would think of it. We think stereotypes are stupid, which is why we took it over the top!
Well... except for Canadian stereotypes.... they are ALL true.
;)

Of course they are!
I don't really have an opinion on your costumes, cause I know you're clever people and that was really funny! But indeed, I think France suffers from stereotypes in the other side of the atlantic, and vice versa. This summer I heard pretty offensive stuff like "french smell..."
But I'm really curious to know where this traditionnal costume is from. Never see that in french or european history books!
ps: and I've seen that a lot of american people have "Amélie Poulain" for favorite movie : oh god I hate this stuff seriously!

You know, I think it comes from cartoons and comic strips... I think it also evolvied from mimes too. But I'm not too sure exactly.
I'd imagine there are some american stereotypes over there, and amongst american's the individual race and cultures have THEIR stereotypes....
As for Canadians, I can at-*test*-('"), they DO have flapping heads.
lol!
i have a friend with an uncanny ability to come up with the silliest bad puns ever. one year for halloween she dressed up in the aforementioned stereotypical french outfit, similar to tsuru's - drawn mustache, stripey shirt, beret... and she carried around a champagne glass.
guess what she was?
french toast.

Delicious, though probably not "French" in any way, shape, or form....

I was/am Jim Halpert, from The Office for Halloween. Not a really exciting costume unless you watch the show. I don't drink so I'm the only person in my suite staying home, so technically I didn't even need a costume. Haha.
