Bad band names for good bands??
Lysol got me thinking... what are some really bad band names, nice and cringe inducing, for bands you love? :?:

For me it's Unbunny! That is the fuckin lamest name ever but they are so damn good.

Though I never got into them, I know a bunch of people did.... Drivin' & Cryin' =P Crash Test Dummies, loved that band, hated their name... To be honest, I hate the latest trend of naming bands by a sentence. =P

For me it's Unbunny! A family friend just joined Unbunny for their West Coast tour. We encouraged Ryan (to the point of annoyance) to do what he could to influence a name change. re: Drivin 'n' Cryin They painted their masterpiece when they recorded Mystery Road. As an album/package that is undeniable to me. Smoke's obviously watered-down-for-the-masses package can never taint the purity of Mystery Road. If we're talking about individual songs though nothing from Kevin Mckinney will ever move me more lyrically than Scarred Burt Smarter. "Nobody said it would be fair. They warned you before you went out there. There's always a chance to get restarted in new world, new life, scarred but smarter." Here's some trivia. In a concert film released in the 90's a icon of college radio rock sang a few lines of the song "With the People" from Mystery Road as an intro/lead-in/segue between songs. Name the band/singer? hint: "the singer must sing the song then fall behind to walk with the people" are the lyrics. hint: Out of all the bands I see on these forums Tsuru seems to type this band's name more than any other. I am deducing this band to be one of his all-time favorites. hint: in their latest press photos their drummer is absent for obvious reasons. they know no one can "replace" him so there is no point in having their drummer-of-the-day pose with them. hint: i see more of their albums here than any other band. Note: because of this singer/songwriter and Bob Dylan, equally, I started writing songs instead of poems. This is someone I saw as a modern, southern writer/artist who represented my generation (i am a product of the 80's). This band, along with Jane's Addiction, saved american music during the late 80's and helped establish/define what is now referred to commercially as alternative rock.

more on topic post: Favorite Band name ever: The Who Least favorite name of a band I truly love: Jackpot. The best SoCal alt country band few have ever heard. I had an album of theirs for over 6 years and it was arguably one of my all-time favorites. Unfortunately I didn't know the name of the band I was listening to. Then one day I played it for a San Diego native who knew who they were. When I heard the name Jackpot I suddenly wished I never learned their name. The name that most accurately describes the band without even hearing a song: Black Sabbath Darkest historical reference used as a band name: Joy Division

i made a mistake. our friend is touring with No Bunny. easy to confuse by name but not by appearance.

Tsuru- 04-05-2008

No Bunny is worse than Unbunny... got to be.

gahrace- 06-04-2008

no. i think unbunny is worse than no bunny. no bunny actually makes sense... unbunny on the other hand... what the hell does unbunny mean?

Tsuru- 06-05-2008

looking back, I agree, but in the end, they are both pretty dumb!
