Alright, I'm determined not to forget albums as I slowly compile my best of 08 as the year unfolds. Here's where I'm at if the year ended today: 1. Destroyer - Trouble In Dreams 2. Stephen Malkmus - Real Emotional Trash 3. Fleet Foxes - Ragged Wood 4. Aaron Thomas - Follow The Elephants 5. Cloud Cult - Feel Good Ghosts (Tea-Partying Through Tornadoes) 6. Nada Surf - Lucky 7. Sia - Some People Have Real Problems 8. Jason Collett - Here's To Being Here 9. British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music? 10. Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend 11. Bauhaus - Go Away White 12. The Mountain Goats - Heretic Pride but it's still soooo early and we still gots lots comin' our way! Bring on Wolf Parade & REM now please!!! :D I'm hoping we have enough participating members come the end of the year to do a big best of thread...... what about you guys? What ya'll diggin' so far???

The dilemma for me is does Radiohead count... because technically the cd was released Jan 1st. I'd like to know what you guys think, otherwise here's my top 5. 1. Mountain Goats - Heretic Pride 2. Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend 3. Magnetic Fields - Distortion 4. She and Him - Volume 1 5. Destroyer - Trouble with Dreams

Not sure on the Radiohead, it seems to be taken as released last year as it was on alot of lists. We just listened to she & him a few times (driving in the shitty weather), I'm loving this album more and more!! :D

Best albums so far for me have been: British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music? Destroyer - Trouble In Dreams Vampire Weekend - s/t She And Him - Volume 1 It just dawned on me the other day how good the She & Him record is, takes time to fully appreciate it in my opinion. Zooey's vocals are just beautiful and when you think about it for a record by a movie star it's great to see it's not been all packaged up and advertised the hell out of to the masses. Need to let new records by Plants & Animals, The Mountain Goats, Cloud Cult and Malkmus sink in properly still. And I still haven't got around to listening to Fleet Foxes. Is it worth it?

First off, welcome!! :D Oh man, Fleet Foxes is so worth it, imo! You got to get that.... there's a link in the fleet foxes discography thread at the strip mall. As for She & Him, I think you may be right, it's creeping up my list slowly by surely. I loved it already, but after this weekend where it got heavy play, I love it even more!

I was real excited for the new Malkmus CD, and like last years new Interpol record and the Architecture in Helsinki record before it, it pains me to say that so far I'm not impressed.

Is the Tapes N Tapes really that good to hit the top of your list? I havent had a chance to jam it yet.

I don't know about top, but it's moving up with each listen. I had to remove the numbers for now, there's just too much goodness going on to even think of numbering anything yet!
