Best/worst show you've ever been to? Personally, I'm gonna say The Who were the best show I've ever been to, my ears were ringing for days after, and the worst was some band called clutch, I'd never heard of them, but they were opening for Coheed and Cambria, and they played for about an hour.
anyone else?

Haha, HitMe, i've had the misfortune of seeing Clutch as well. They were opening (not gonna say for who), just played for wayy too long, most boring shit I've ever heard.
As far as best...hmm...i would have to say Arcade Fire at one of the small church shows they did before Neon Bible came out last year. It was just so cool to be in that tiny space with them, and even though they were sort of warm up shows, the band sounded awesome and into it, everyone there was into it, and it was my first time seeing them. I was about 10 feet away when they did Wake Up in the crowd at the end.. It was just an amazing night. I had like a music hangover from that show for so long afterwards.

Best show I've ever seen is probably a tie between Okkervil River and Ted Leo/Pharmacists. They both rocked and it was just an all around good time. Worst was definately Interpol. Talk about boring.

Best show is Arcade Fire (four times) and worst was The Killers. They suck big time and we actually walked out (it was at a festival gig, they came on after Arcade Fire. I would not have gone to see them on their own.)
Other notably great shows: David Bowie (both times), Wolf Parade and there were a few Grateful Dead shows back in the day which were amazing, but somehow forgettable (probably the drugs)...

best show i've seen in years is a three way tie between The Grates at Empty Bottle (2007), Of Montreal/MGMT at Abbey Pub (2005), and Roky Erickson at Intonation Fest (2006)... all three blew my mind and made me remember why it is I love music in the first place - sheer transcendance (spelling?)... heh

I saw Bowie on his Reality tour, it was an amazing show in an outdoor ampitheater, I'm praying that he goes back on tour/does something else soon.

Yes, I saw the Reality tour also! He is always an amazing performer. The first time I saw him was at Glastonbury which was also very impressive.

Best Show and Worst Show for me was one show.
Beck w/ opening act The Cardigans.
The Cardigans were so bad that when the lead-chick said they had one more song, the crowd was so quiet she heard me yell "Hurry up" from the back of the floor. She knew what was happening.
Beck was the best entertainment performance i have ever seen. Never let a chance to see Beck live pass you by.
I'm ignorning all of the above comments about Clutch.

The next best show after that was NewYear's 1997 at the new 9:30 in DC
Southern Culture on the Skids
Cibo Matto
Jesus Lizard
Jon Spencer Blues Xplosion
caught fried chicken from SCOTS
caught Russell Simmons in the mosh pit
and watched David Yow fire bottle rockets out his ass from the balcony after the show. i don't remember much after that.

Ignoring Arcade Fire, because it's unfair on all the rest, Sunset Rubdown at Bottom Of The Hill in SF was fantastic, tiny venue, great music, good times. Slint playing the whole of Spiderland at Bimbo's 365 Club was also amazing, note perfect, great atmosphere, absolutely stunning musicians.
Worst gig? I've seen some truly dire support acts, too many to name, but the most disappointing show was Smashing Pumpkins, Leeds 2007. Didn't help that Nine Inch Nails blew the crowd away immediately before, and Billy Corgan is a tool. They opened with a 10-minute semi-instrumental wankathon, and rattled through the classic SP stuff too fast, as if he wanted to get them out of the way. It seems like Billy Corgan doesn't want to be in the Pumpkins, but by playing under that name is the only way he can get people to pay attention to him.

Best - well arcade fire obviously but also Shihad at uni. it was a smelly stinky venue and everyone was drunk and dribbling but sooo into it. i got kicked out twice and kicked in the face (accidently) once by the singer when he was climbing in the rafters.
Worst - frenzal rhomb. 2/3 preaching their vegan/peta shit to me 1/3 music including a song that went for 4 seconds.
