Hi there, I'm Lisa. 28. I live on a sandbar in So. Texas (okay, it's really an island but a hurricane won't see it that way). I was sort of unofficially invited over from Live Journal. I'm a total indie kid but appreciate all music ... except I can't really get behind anything gastah-rappish unless it's very easy to understand and so stupid and funny it makes me laugh. Tejano and tween pop are at the absolute bottom of my aural totem pole. Other than that, I generally hate the presented face of radio and think I could do a much better job running that sh!t, but, then again, I think everybody prolly thinks that. I, thankfully, have yet to be bitten by the vinyl bug that you all seem to be afflicted with, and my checkbook would like it to stay that way as well. *waves hello

Ah, missed this thread. Andrew from Boston, MA. Discovered this little society from the Arcade Fire forum, which I discovered because I'm a big AF fan - I had no idea they were popular when I first heard them, but I was absolutely enthralled. And so began my path to enlightenment. Pretty much nab any record I can get my hands on; and pretty much spend my days listening to them, because I'm a graphic artist, and everyone knows graphic artist's just draw pictures all day. Right? And I have to say thanks to tsuru for all his work and dedication :)

ain't just me, my friend, I'm nothing without you guys... and welcome!

Hello! I've been around here for a while, so I figured its time I properly introduced myself :) My name is Kristie, I'm 19 and I live in PA. I came across Tsuru's blog a while back and joined the society because I'm always looking for new music to love. This is the first forum I've ever been on, but I'm pretty sure it's probably the most awesome one to ever exist.

Tsuru- 09-28-2008

haha! fantastic! Thanks Kristie, welcome, welcome... It's really great having you here!

Lanni- 10-03-2008

hi! i'm Lanni. i'm 19 and i live in rochester, NY (but i'm currently at school — i go to SUNY geneseo). fulltext has been nice enough to share music with me over on my website, imaclanni.com, and recommended i'd join and see what's the haps over here : ) basically, i really dig all sorts of music, in particular: synthpop, ska, rock, electronica, and most things indie. my favorite band is they might be giants, and i have 30 of their albums. runner-ups for favorite bands/artists are: atom and his package, the aquabats, cake, mc lars, brand new, reel big fish, modest mouse, the postal service, vampire weekend, and R.E.M. a complete list of the albums i have is here. i'm always looking to share and trade, so take a look. i have a habit of joining forums and then growing bored of them fairly quickly (i blame it on my AD/HD, to be honest), but i hope to see everyone around! : )

Welcome, Lanni! Great to see Brand New as a runner-up favorite band! If you'd like, i can upload the demo tape that The Rookie Lot put out in '98 or '99. they were a band that was made up of most of Brand New before they formed Brand New (Jesse, Brian, and Garrett). Brandon of Movielife/Nightmare of You was also in Rookie Lot. And i have a 4 song demo CD that Brand New did before Your Favorite Weapon. Let me know if you're interested and I'll be happy to upload :)

Welcome Lanni! We've been trading for a while, and she's helped with a few of the member requests I couldn't find anywhere else. I'm pretty persistent so I'll keep posting the kind of music you like so you'll keep coming back! :)

Really awesome, because I'm not the biggest fan of Brand New's new stuff, mostly just Your Favorite Weapon and select tracks on Deja Entendu. I'm pretty persistent so I'll keep posting the kind of music you like so you'll keep coming back! Sounds like a plan!
