hi there everyone. my name is brandon and im an eighteen year old student hailing from huntington beach, ca. i stumbled across tsururadio by ways of the ds forums and was a member of the myspace society thing that was up and running a little while back. although like all of you i could go on for forever, some of my favorites are a tribe called quest, lou reed, the misfits, neil young, justice, at the drive-in, cold war kids, cat power, feist, joy division/new order, radiohead, and wu-tang clan. i decided that i might as well just stop lurking around and say hello. also since ive taken my fair share of music from tsuru id like to try to get some music up on here but have no idea how to get stuff onto rapidshare or other things like it although i thought i saw tutorial somewhere so ill go check around. hopefully one of these days soon ill get the usb connection thing needed and start upping some of my own tiny milkcrate collection!

all right the introduction thread! name is gud 35 yr old guy from raleigh.nc and before you ask; everyone here thinks that ryan adams was just some asshole who lived with a friend of a friends. i found tsuru's blog via elbo.ws and got a kick out of the alt-music/nude-photog angle. but then he started this forum. which was great cuz its coincided with my purchase of a usb-t.table and i'm just startin to rip all my vinyl. which isn't so great cuz i'm finding it to be a lot more difficult than advertised. but i love music so even though i'm having to practically "Remaster" all my albums, i'm learning something about production and having fun. my wife may have a diff opinion. here's the breakdown of musical tastes that doesn't come close to describing everything i listen to: First album purchased: Culture Club "i'll tumble 4 ya" 12" single First tape purchased: Herbie Hancock "Future Shock" and AC/DC "Back in Black" First cd purchased: LedZeppelin "IV" and AC/DC "Back in Black" Last vinyl album purchased: Gogol Bordello "Multi Kontra Culti vs Irony" w/ EastInfection EP do you require a 'signature' line?

Welcome gud. I used to live down in Long Beach and worked in Huntington Beach while I was at University. As for uploading your music, Sharebee is easy (if a bit slow) and it will host your file to a number of different servers so that people may choose where to download it from. Personally, I love Mega upload because it is easy to use and keep track of files, but some people have a hard time getting it to work. What you want to do is archive your music in a zip file before uploading it so it's not too big. Welcome also Brandon. You have great taste in music. I look forward to seeing what is in your record collection! I don't know what you are going on about Ryan Adams, and No, we do not require a signature line. :)

Hi, my name is Jake. I am 31 and live in New York's beautiful and historic Hudson valley. When i am not working i spend most of my time listening to music, pretending i know how to fix/build things in my house and cooking. I have recently become completely obsessed with van Dyke Park's "Discover America" which I will make my first vinyl rip as soon as I get motivated. my vinyl collection consists of about 50 7"s dating from my days of going to hardcore shows on Long Island I grew up on LI and have found memories of hardcore shows at the PWAC so I am very interested in these records. You don't happen to have any Half Man records in your collection do you?

HitMeWithMuzak- 04-13-2008

Hey guys! It's HitMeWithMuzak here (yeah, I'm gonna be the one loser that uses his handle instead of his name). I found this place after Tsuru posted an REM rip on Ska, I've been collecting vinyl for a few years now, not that long compared to most people on this board, but I have a fairly large collection of about 50 records that I inherited. I'm a huge fan of Bowie and the Rolling Stones. This place seems pretty cool!

You don't happen to have any Half Man records in your collection do you? Hi Jake, unfortunately no, i don't have any Half Man. My records are currently all at my parents' house on LI -- next time i'm out there i need to make a master list of what i have. I missed the whole PWAC scene by about a year, from what i can tell. When i first started going to shows, the big venue was Deja One in Mineola. For a while, you could see three or four great bands, local and touring, for five or seven bucks every single weekend. Great times.

Ahoy-hoy, My name's Chad and I'm a 27 year old dental student in Birmingham, AL I was brought to this board via the new Jonathan Richman posts on tsuru's blog. I love most, if not all, the music that's shared here and I'm glad to be a part of this community. I've already been turned on to Fleet Foxes, the Pica Beats, and Bitzen trapper thanks to you guys. Also, I'm digging the new Islands and I LOVE the recent Sam Cooke and Aretha posts in the Vinyl section. I hope to share some vinyl in the future. I'm planning on purchasing a suitcase vinyl player with usb hookup. Thanks you all for the great music and thank you Tsuru for running the show. hoy, Chad
