Need your thoughts...... Vinyl Society Suggestion Box!
Hey team.... I want to make this place better, get us more members to converse and share, but I need your input. How can we make this better? Adjustments to the Coffee shop? The record shop? separate forums for music sharing and music discussion?? Help me... help you! :D

I got an idea: can we get a separate Forum for listing things we have but they're not posted yet...? I don't know if i can waste 30 minutes waiting for Sharebee/RapidShare/ or Zshare to upload my entire album and then nobody really wants it anyway~ Maybe in this reversal-request forum, we can post threads for any new stuff we have and then we only need to post it if someone replies saying "hell yeah please" Also- is there some other site i could upload on faster?

yeah, feel free to start whatever music related in the record shop, that's why we are hanging out there... to listen, discuss, share, etc...

-When opening a thread that I've previously read the page should be anchored at the first new post instead of the top of the thread. -I'd like an option to not view signatures. I think signatures with a lot of text and large graphics are an eye sore and disrupt the flow of a thread. Some people may like them though so a preference to view or not would be nice.

Click the little white square thing next to the last poster's name to view the last post. Sorry for the really lame picture.

Thanks! Thats a nice tip that I wasn't aware of. Its only a partial fix though as it takes you to the most recent post. If there have been 3 posts since I last read the thread then the page should anchor at the first of those three post when I open it.

well, right now, my adjusting phpbb is limited, as it's a free board and they only allow for a few adjustments. They are due to give us the upgrade to phpbb3 soon which has more options like this... Until then, I'm referring more to the category set ups, things like that.

Should we go to 4 forums? 1. Society Hall - For vinyl 2. The Record Shop - For getting & requesting albums 3. Music Discussion (title: who knows, how about "In The Basement"?) - For, uh, music discussion 4. The coffee shop (change it to The Lounge?) - for all us.. ?

Should we go to 4 forums? I think that's a good idea. While i like the idea of "The Record Shop," for discussing and sharing music, I think the way it is now, we run the risk of burying some of the straight discussion/opinion threads when there are a flurry of albums posted. I also really liked Gud's idea about a thread for stuff you have that you haven't posted..i personally think that would be really helpful.. or would it be better to just use "Recently Purchased," like Gud said? Any thoughts?

Yes, you are correct. The red flag takes you to the first post you haven't read. The other shortcut I find useful is to use the "View posts since last visit" button you can find on the main page.

The Lounge (or keep The Coffee Shop) I think we should keep the coffee shop, but definitely go to four forums, I like that idea.
