Photography...
So, obviously, I'm always on the hunt for wonderful photography and I'm also a photographer myself (if only I made enough money to do it full time). I think we need a thread that not only serves as a place to show off your OWN talents, but any other photography you find out there that you think would fit in nicely on TSURURADIO. Let's see what you took! And let's see what you found!!! I'll put up my Iceland pictures to get things started... So............ On the flights back from India, we made an emergency landing in Iceland. One of the passengers was having serious health problems. As we landed, I took as many photos as I could, when will I be in Iceland again? The passenger went to the hospital, we refueled and headed to Chicago.... I hope he's okay.... Here's four of the photos I finally uploaded: Emergency Landing In Iceland No. 1, 2, & 3 Icelandic Airport.. :D Your turn!!!

I was originally drawn to your site from another blog (the name escapes me now) for one of your vinyl rips, and then I kept coming back. This is due in large part to the great photography all over the site. This, coupled with various photographers I've been around while they have photographed my brothers band seems to have reignited some long dormant and unexplored passion for the photographic arts. Now I'm not making any career changes, that would require me to be moving in a particular direction to begin with, but i just see this as an opportunity to explore a new hobby and to have some fun! With that said, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on cameras for an inexperienced but eager rookie! I was looking at the Canon Powershot S5 IS, or possibly even the S3 for added savings. Are there any other models that, being a beginner, i should know about? Or anything else for that matter?

Well, I've got a few, I've got my serious one, the Nikon D40x, it isn't too expensive and is an amazing camera. I'd recommend that one all day. Beyond that I have an Olympus point-n-shoot that I keep with me at all times. I have an old Olympus c2020 for infrared photos, and I've got an old Polaroid spectra for that old school look. It really depends on what level of camera you want to get. If you wanting to do "photography", try to get a camera with as many manual control options as you can, aperature control, shutter control, that kinda thing. That way, you can learn more about photography and how to get the photos to look the way you want them to look... you know? :D

Ah! Nice shot!!! Did you take it?

billybadhands- 03-30-2008

I did. I'm very much an amateur photographer and am pretty proud of that shot.

I did. I'm very much an amateur photographer and am pretty proud of that shot. You should be, lowlight photography is very tough, especially when no one is "posing" for you...

Thanks! And in case anyone is wondering, the shot is of Wilco front man Jeff Tweedy.

Damn, I sound like a noob but I'm a little confused, how do I post my photographs?

mesmerized- 05-20-2008

You have to upload them somewhere like flickr or deviantart. Then when posting a reply on the forum, you'll see a Img button in the message body box. A will show up. Then you just submit your post like usual, and you're good to go. Oh, and only one photo link between each thing. Hope that helps?

I also use www.imageshack.us to create a link to post between
