Recommend (and post) an album & why.....
We find and post lots of albums all the time.... but it's hard to tell what one should download sometimes. So, for this thread, you need to recommend an album, post a link for it, and give a brief reasoning why we should grab and listen... Sound good? Who wants to start??? 8)

Okay, I'll start..... I recommend: 1. Troublemaker 2. Pork and Beans 3. Pig 4. Dreamin' 5. The Angel and The One 6. Miss Sweeney 7. Spider 8. Heart Songs 9. Everybody Get Dangerous 10. The Greatest Man That Ever Lived http://www.tsururadio.com/music/members/weezer-redux.zip After completely dismissing the weezer album after a number of tries, with the leak of the "deluxe version", I was determined to give it another go. So I listened, hard, on my ride in this mornin... Even though I mildly enjoyed King & Automatic, I felt like this album, with just Rivers, and re-tracked, could be enjoyable. So, I tinkered and tinkered and after a few goes, I came up with Weezer Red(ux). I'm listening now and I gotta tell ya..... if this was the album (not just the songs, but the album art too), I'd be a much happier camper. Give it a go! 8)

my pick Sharing Space by Cog In terms of rock albums this is so refreshing for me. i think this guy has an incredible voice - its a whole extra instrument and has been layered in a very very good way.Its a great album for getting fired up but not particurlary angry. 2 review's of their live shows I found cause i suck at reviews "Described as an orchestra of guitar chords, beckoning drums and resonant bass tones, COG’s live shows are renowned for their implacably monstrous sound where the synchronicity between the three members is somewhat of a spectacle. " “To expect anything less than sheer brilliance, honesty and truthfulness to leave the speakers and enter your ears at a show is quite a high expectation to have, but in a balance that can only be described as eerie, Cog delivered well above any past performance and took their now influential sound to a whole new level.” Drum Media http://www.mediafire.com/?1nmujzoj10w

Its just so mellow but masterful, like a cross between Neil Young and Colin Meloy, and it gets better with each successive listen. http://rapidshare.com/files/118453168/weinland_-_la_lamentor.zip P.S. Speaking of Colin, you did see this? And, they have a new album coming out soon! http://vinylsociety.tsururadio.com/viewtopic.php?t=1050&highlight=swan+lake

The Magic Numbers' self-titled debut album of 2005. One of the few albums that has a permanent slot on my ipod. I turn to it again and again. The combination of bluesy soulfulness and perfect harmonizing just do it for me every time. Every song is a perfectly crafted pop jewel, and you can clearly hear the influence of the Beach Boys and Mamas & the Papas. Here is a video from their recent Undecided EP (2007) that is not typical of their style, in that it features Angela Gagnon on lead vocals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69iY6iXphAo Their critically acclaimed performance at Glastonbury in 2007 showcased them as one of the UK's best, most original pop bands. Featuring hard-driving rhythms, a strong drum beat, and kickass bass playing, they turned in an immaculate performance. Miles Davis - In A Silent Way Don't see too much in the way of jazz on here, but i think this is one that anyone can enjoy. I know Kind of Blue is usually the recommended starting point, and with good reason, but this is really accessible and enjoyable as well, and more and more I find myself going back to this over anything else. To me, it perfectly sums up the idea of "nocturnal" music - although it definitely won't put you to sleep. You can't deny the shadow of Miles Davis, but each of the other musicians really stands out in their own way - from the pianos, to the organ, to the guitar, to the sax. This was one of his last albums before Miles Davis went into full-on fusion mode, and you can definitely see here that he was ready to leave "jazz" as most people knew it, behind. Enjoy! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NZK7WNUG
